Rwentuha P/S appeals to President Museveni to increase Capitation grants so as to solve the School feeding puzzle…

The National Resistance Movement (NRM) Government’s policy on education puts emphasis on having atleast one Government aided Primary School per parish though some Parishes have more than two Schools, this is an achievement worth to appreciate.

The Office of the National Chairmañ (ONC) is undertaking a nation wide School monitoring and assessment programme and one of our Cordinators from Kigezi Sub region- Rukungiri District, Mr AKAMPA RUGABA visited Rwentuha Primary School in Rwenkurijjo Parish- Buyanja Sub County- Rukungiri District and discovered the following.

Where as the School currently has an enrollment of 194 Pupils, with only Seven Teachers including the Headmistress,
It is still faced with many challenges which include:
Old classroom structures that are in a poor condition, Inadequate staffing, Inadequate desks, lack of staff accomodation among others.

The Headmistress, M/s Namara Babrah appealed to the National Chairman, H.E Yoweri Kaguta Museveni to increase Capitation Grants so as to enable Schools provide lunch at School which will eventually improve on enrollment and pupil retention in UPE Government aided Schools.

She further requested increase in Salaries for both arts and Science Primary School teachers to motivate them for better grades.

Rwentuha Primary School has very old Classrooms that need renovation as well construction of teachers houses for accomodation, this would enhance on their day to day teaching.

Requested the ministry of Education and Sports to allocate the School with more teachers so as to close the gaps.

She thanked SPA Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo Uzeiye for always checking on the Schools and making sure that Government programmes reach the ordinary Ugandans, she extended an invitation to Hajjat Hadijah to pay a visit to the School as the School is fundraising for renovation of classrooms and construction of teachers’ houses.
