KCCA together with Police arrest Street Children traffickers
On Thursday 18th August 2022, over Two Hundred Eighteen ( 218) street kids were rescued from Kampala streets by Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA). The rescued street kids were taken by UWESO to Masulita.
As well, KCCA working with Uganda Police arrested four suspected traffickers and kept at Central Police Station (CPS) as their files are being worked on and are most likely to appear in Court today.
The identity of the 4 individuals are yet to be known when they appear at City Hall Court.
We shall be sharing more details on this story.
When we contacted KCCA’s Executive Director Ms Dorothy Kisaka, She said that Kampala residents should be aware that the law prevents people from giving handouts to street beggars. This is not bona-fide begging. Behind every child begger is an adult who is benefitting from the begging. We can not condone this. We shall continue looking out for these criminal child abusers wherever they are and apprehend them. This is not just about smart City. This is protecting Children’s Lives, our future.
