DRC joining E.A Community is a bigger step towards our shared agenda- President Museveni

News– The president for the republic of Uganda H.E.YK Museveni has said he is so happy and thankful to the Almighty for allowing him witness DR Congo joining the East African community.

“Am so happy that I have witnessed this pleasant and very important eventual admission of DR Congo into the East African Bloc when am still alive” President Museveni told the summit today.

The president added that he is happy to witness and this significant expansion of the EAC Bloc .
H .E Paul Kagame of Rwanda said that his Country is willing to support the admission process of DR Congo adding that he is only waiting to ratify the accession treaty as the final admission step.

Tanzania’s Samia Salahu recommended DR Congo’s President Tshisekedi for a wise decision of seeking admission into East African community.

In today’s regional virtual summit, the regional heads of state approved the admission of DR Congo into the East African community Bloc.

DR Congo applied to join the East African community way back in February 2018.
